History
When eight businessmen founded the Hudson Motor Car Company in Detroit in 1909, the goal was simple: to build a quality car at a price ordinary Americans could afford.
The result was an immediate success.
The first model – the Hudson Model 20 – sold over 4,500 units in its very first year, and within a few years, Hudson had established itself as one of the largest car manufacturers in the US.
For nearly fifty years, Hudson was known for forging its own path. The brand was among the most innovative in the American automotive industry, and several of the solutions Hudson introduced later became standard on cars around the world.
